STEEPLECHASE

Steeplechase developed out of the success of a demo that was cut by songwriting team Poc Silver and Jason Silver in the winter of 1999 with the help of their friend and mentor Greg Mazurek and future Steeplechase producer Frank Santagata Jr. at Times 7 Productions in Holmdel, New Jersey. Their 3-song EP entitled “ONCE” caught the ear of Grammy-Winning Producer/Engineer Elliot Scheiner (The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Aerosmith) and led Poc to form Steeplechase, a 4-piece moderate rock band from Central New Jersey.

The sound of Steeplechase is distinct from other Jersey Shore acts by their signature ringing guitar textures, warm synthesizer atmospherics, and yearning melodic vocals – easily making them one of the premier up-and-coming alternative rock bands from the New Jersey/New York City Metropolitan Area. During the past several years, the band has written dozens of thoughtful yet anthemic songs and has released a series of albums and EPs including “Battleview Orchards” (2003), “Winter Blooming” (2004), and “Love and Anguish” (2007). Steeplechase also released the European promotional single “She Calls Me Out Tonight” (2005) through ACM Records (www.acmrecords.com), which was produced by British Grammy-Nominated Producer John Ravenhall (Paul McCartney, Elton John, Sting).

During the past year, the music of Steeplechase has been featured on the popular E! Network; including several episodes of the E! True Hollywood Story, several episodes of Dr. 90210, and a show called Whose Wedding Is It Anyway? In addition, Steeplechase’s music has been featured on international television programming (in Canada, Europe, and Latin America) as well as on XM and Sirius Radio. The band’s recent successes also led to the founding of Argento Records and Music Services, LLC (www.myspace.com/argentomusicservices), Poc and Jason Silver’s indie record label and music management firm featuring a growing roster of talent from 6 continents.

Nearly a decade into their career, Steeplechase continues to make their presence felt through their powerful recordings and in performing for a wide range of audiences, near and far. The band looks forward to taking their career to that proverbial next level starting in 2008 through their signing to the acclaimed music publishing and administration company, Missing Link Music.
