Eric “Vietnam” Sadler is an American hip-hop veteran originally hailing from Long Island, New York. He rose to prominence in the late 1980s and early 1990s as a founding member of the Bomb Squad, which would become the production team for Public Enemy. Alongside Hank Shocklee, Keith Shocklee and Chuck D, Sadler was an integral part of the production side that made Public Enemy a worldwide cultural sensation, working on the group’s first four albums most notably including It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back and Fear of a Black Planet. Known for his extensive expertise in drum machines and producing, Sadler went on to work with other artists including True Mathematics, KRS-One, Rakim, Jay-Z, Slick Rick, Chaka Khan, Ludacris, Ice Cube, and LL Cool J, and remains a highly respected musician in hip-hop and R&B circles.
