alex bugnon

A contemporary jazz icon, Alex Bugnon has been a driving force in jazz since the release of his first album Love Season in 1989. Haling from Caux, Switzerland, Bugnon was surrounded by jazz from a young age that influenced him to pursue a career in music. Bugnon studied at the Paris Conservatory and then the Berklee School of Music. Once in the U.S., his musical style and sound became better defined as he was exposed to a diverse selection of jazz, funk, and R&B. He hit his stride once he moved to New York City, and he began touring with local R&B artists including Melba Moore, Freddie Jackson, and Patti Austin. Bugnon’s most pivotal connection was his run-in with Missing Link’s own Najee, an amazing saxophone talent. Najee made the connection for Bugnon to sign his first record deal with Orpheus Records.
