Robert “Ahrel” Lumzy joins the Missing Link Administrative Roster as the current percussionist and backup vocalist for Soul icon D’Angelo. Ahrel was heavily influenced by gospel quartet style of music as well as artist like Otis Reading, Al Green, The Mighty Spinner, James Brown, Michael Jackson, Prince, and many other soul singers. Ahrel began working with Grammy award winning artist D’Angelo in 2012, performing at the North Sea Jazz Festival, the BET Awards, Pori Jazz Festival, Gent Jazz Festival, Made in America and countless other venues.

Ahrel can be heard most recently singing backup on the critically acclaimed D’Angelo release, “Black Messiah” in 2014.
