Missing Link Music is happy to announce the signing of Muhsinah Abdul-Karim to a worldwide administration agreement.
Muhsinah is a GRAMMY-nominated vocalist, songwriter and producer who creates music that explores the boundaries of genre and transports listeners through multi-dimensional sounds.
A native of Washington D.C., she is a graduate of both Duke Ellington School of the Arts–where she competed and performed as a classically trained pianist– and Howard University–where she earned a degree in Jazz Composition within three years. She cites Pharrell, Janet Jackson and Herbie Hancock & among her top musical influences. A music industry gem, Muhsinah has gone on to collaborate with incomparable artists including Common, The Foreign Exchange (with whom she earned a Best Urban/Alternative Performance GRAMMY-nomination for her work on ‘Daykeeper’), Robert Glasper, The Weeknd and Flying Lotus. EBONY Magazine notes that, “Muhsinah’s voice is a malleable, sublime instrument, unique in the way that she bends straight ahead R&B.” A one-woman show who seeks to defy any limits placed on her artistry, Muhsinah is released a new EP for 8 months straight in 2016 and is currently recording her next solo album, as well as writing for other artists.
